McLean, VA – Oasys International Corporation (Oasys) is pleased to announce the 2018 Internship cohort: Ramsey Benzina (VA Tech), Joseph Butler (Univ of MD), Jonathan Hartman (Univ of MD), Georgia Stamper (Clemson Univ), and Andrew Zhou (Emory Univ). The Summer Associates were selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants and will participate in a matrixed program that will provide them with hands-on experience in marketing, business development, engineering, business analytics, research and more.
“We are thrilled to welcome these exceptional students into our 2018 program,” said Oasys Director of Operations, Paige Openshaw. “While we expect the program will provide them with a broad exposure to our work, we are also excited about what they will teach us.”
The Oasys Internship Program is based on the tenets of Experiential Learning where the Associates learn, individually and as a team, as they create and deliver actual business solutions Oasys will employ. Senior Oasys staff serve as project owners and delivery guides, working with the Summer Associates to fine tune their work. Projects range from researching and writing for publication, helping create new program tracking materials, as well as building business intelligence packages. The Program also includes both work-related and social outings including orientation visits with Federal customers, group meals, and tickets to sporting events.
Sharon Kang, Oasys Intern Program Lead, said “We want to expose them to agile operations, so we have incorporated Agile Project Management concepts into the program. All the projects are tracked on a Kanban board in our main office space and we hold a daily scrum to ensure their work is receiving the support it needs. They get to manage both the backlog and the delivery plan for each work iteration.”
The Associates collectively own their body of work for the summer which helps them experience concepts such as critical thinking, resource prioritization, judgement and collaboration in a business environment.
